What kind of food do you serve?
Here at El Chupacabra Alki, we specialize in Mexican food with our own fresh spin. You’ll love our overstuffed burritos, tasty tacos, and cheesy enchiladas. We use the highest quality meat, dairy and fresh produce available. We prepare all of our sauces, salsas, beans, rice, and meats in-house daily.
We are open for lunch and dinner year-round all day long! We have a traditional Mexican breakfast fare Saturday and Sunday.
Do you allow kids?
Yes, we allow kids at designated tables while the kitchen is open, we become over 21 after everyone the kitchen is closed. Sorry, no kiddos at the bar top or over 21 areas.
Can I bring my puppy?
No dogs inside the designated patio areas or dining room– yes even if they are in your purse or a carrying case. (They scare the little chupacabras and the Health Board doesn’t like it much either.) Service animals are always welcome with their human companions!
We follow the ADA guidelines for service animals and they are welcome (Unfortunately, we do not allow ESA or ‘therapy animals’ as they are not defined as service animals under the current law.)
Do you take reservations?
We operate on a first come first serve basis. Don’t fret, we have a list to make sure everyone is sat in order of arrival and party size. If it’s busy, grab a drink at the bar while you’re waiting for a spot to open up. Wait times are generally short. (No call aheads– you have to come in to be put on the list 😉 )

Do you do take out?
Yes! Our entire menu is available to take to the beach, park or home. Just ask the server or bartender to place a take-out order in-house.
Due to high volume during peak hours we prioritize in-house customers. So if you are not getting through on the phone please try back at another time or visit us in person.
We do not deliver through a third party site or provide off-site catering.
Do you add gratuity?
We may add an 18% gratuity to large parties. This is based on server discretion, it will be noted on each of your receipts above the total line. Once a receipt is signed it is a finalized transaction–so please read your bill before signing!
A 10% gratuity to all to-go orders for the extra service packaging orders. You will see the 10% at the above your total on the check.
We will also add 18% to any tabs left open at the end of the night.
Allergies & dietary restrictions:
Keep in mind that we do prepare food in a shared kitchen space, there is always a possibility of cross-contamination in a small space. If our shared kitchen space is ok for you then you have many options to pick from!
Vegans and Vegetarians: We offer veggie options including mock meats, vegan cheese, & sour cream on our menu. Plus– all of our beans, rice, sauces, and salsas are made without dairy or animal products so accommodating is simple.
Gluten Free/ Wheat Free Diets: We have many gluten-free options on the menu.
Nut Allergies: We do not have any ingredients that include nuts and use canola oil in our fryer.
***Highly sensitive individuals: We use shellfish, dairy, soy and gluten ingredients and prepare all foods in a shared kitchen space. Grills, fryers, pots, and pans are used for all items. Our cooks clean between prep but we understand that keeping food truly safe means avoiding all cross-contamination, including particles that may be in the air and human error, something that’s not 100% possible in a busy kitchen.
If you are highly sensitive to any of the ingredients we use in our kitchen, there is risk of cross-contamination or human error that may occur during food preparation and service. We will do our best to accommodate you but please dine at your own discretion.
Where do I park?
We have street parking. Most of the time there is plenty of parking a few blocks off the main drag.
Where do I get one of those kick-ass chupacabra shirts?
The shirts are available in house, just ask your server or bartender. *In-house sale only.
Do you sell gift cards?
Yes, gift cards are available in any amount. Just your server or bartender. *In-house sale only.
Can I get an itemized receipt at a later date?
Unfortunately, we do not reissue receipts after the date of your transaction. The staff will always provide you with both an itemized and credit card receipt at the time of sale, please keep these copies for your records.
There is a disclaimer printed on each receipt that states “Keep this copy for your records! We cannot provide itemized copies on a later date. sorry!”
Who owns El Chupacabra?
El Chupacabra opened in 2005 on Phinney Ridge in Seattle, El Chupacabra Alki was opened in 2011 on Alki Beach, both are owned and operated by Aaron Wright.
